About

Teaching is one of the most exciting experiences I have ever had. My main goal is to share my passion for music with others, through the piano and the organ, and be able to help others to discover their goals through music. I enjoy exploring different methodologies of learning such as listening to music and recommending music to my students, working at the keyboard to gain skills and technique, going to performances, and most importantly helping them to improve their performance skills and encouraging them to be a better person through music. I believe that music can change us in a very positive way and that is what I am striving for as a teacher.

To experience how music can affect the way we think or behave. Furthermore, to be able to orchestrate with sounds our inner feelings in an artistic way.

David is a knowledgeable, engaging, and personable teacher. He quickly connected with my son and helped him with his piano technique effectively. When a piano teacher is liked by a young student even while having high expectations, it’s a clear sign of quality teaching.

    Frequently asked questions

First, I would talk with the student to have a better idea of their goals in music and see how I can help them to achieve those goals.

Secondly, if the student is a beginner I would begin with a systematic approach of frequent piano/organ lessons and practice in which to introduce them to these instruments. If they are at an intermediate or more advanced level I think the second step would be to communicate with them about how I can best help them improve their skills.

Lastly, it is important to showcase your abilities as a musician.
In order to accomplish that we would work towards performances in different venues, online, and recitals to prepare them to play in different amateur and professional settings.

Teaching was part of my music program when I was at the Conservatory. We spent one year in different music schools teaching. It was excellent training for us as students because for the first time I was able to have a better understanding of what teachers struggle in the classroom and how they manage different professional situations.

For the most part of my experience as a teacher, I have been working with students from 10 to 18 years old.

In the last Academic Year, I have been focused to get my Masters's degree in Organ Performance at Wichita State University. Moreover, as a graduate assistant, I am working with two different choirs at my university.

I would recommend to be honest and communicate any concern they might have.

I would encourage students to check any video of the teacher's playing and style. By doing that, it would give the students and parents a better picture of what type of musician you are dealing with.

how much they love music and what are their goals with it?

how much effort they are willing to put in their lessons and during their practice sessions?
