Stand Tall Boxing
About
Our focus is speed and technique. Along the way the fitness develops. We don't make the student do hours of warm up exercises to exhaustion. We focus on basic, proper techniques and movements. We don't play at boxing. We take it seriously.
We emphasize effective and proper movements and coordination.
Boxing can provide the student with self defense tools, confidence, and coordination /fitness. This is a full mind and body experience.
I enjoy seeing people's skills and confidence grow in this process.

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
We do an initial assessment of the student's fitness and overall coordination. Then we initially work with them to draft an 'at home' exercise program, staying mindful to not overstress the student. We want this to be relatively low impact while increasing flexibility and coordination.
After about 30 days of basic exercises, we begin layering-in basic boxing moves and techniques. Within 90 days we start hitting bags to assist in development of balance and focus.
Where we go from there depends on the student. Could be light sparring or just enhanced and more rigorous technique develpment and fitness training utilizing prpoer boxing movements and techniques.
If the student wants to go full-on boxing and sparring, we can accompany them to one of the boxing gyms in town, and serve as their coach. We're looking at that happening 12 montnhs down the road.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
