Brandon Johnson
About
Hello fellow musicians! My name is Brandon Johnson, and for the past four years, I have been fortunate to be the music teacher for gifted & talented students for K-12 students. I got my degree in Music from the University of Louisiana at Lafayette with concentrations in Music Theory, Composition, and Music Media. I have been playing jazz and classical trumpet for 17 years and the piano for over 7 years, as well as the clarinet and the saxophone for 2 years. In addition to instrument technique, I also teach songwriting, composition, theory, and music production.
My teaching philosophy is simple. I see myself in every person that I teach, and want nothing more than to see them succeed and explore the world of music with performance skills at an accelerated pace. My students regularly do well in competitions, regularly earn music scholarships to colleges, and they also regularly get accepted to attend the New Orleans Center for Creative Arts.
