Voice Lessons
Professionally trained musical comedy and opera singer with notable performances in cabaret venues throughout the US and Europe. Learn vocal technique, presentation, interpretation, acting, and repertoire. For more advanced students interested in performance, I specialize in writing one-person shows.
Piano Lessons
Beginner and Intermediate level instruction. I have a degree in Music Education with vocal major and piano minor.
Painting Classes
Professional artist. As an artist, I owned and ran The B.J. Faulkner Gallery in Lenox, Mass. I also have done notable illustration projects, including book covers and notecards. I continue to paint today, and my artwork is available on my website www.bjfaulkner.com, and periodically on display in the Cape Ann area. I was the feature artist at the Hammond Castle for the month of August 2019. I teach to inspire others and share the joy of painting.
I’m a self-taught artist and my teaching reflects a high level of creativity and finding the essence of burgeoning artists. Students will gain a sense of their own talent and artistic expression through my unconventional teaching technique and style.
Creative expression, independence, meeting new people, creating beauty in all its forms. I have lived my entire life in and through the arts and it has been one of my greatest joys. To complete the circle it is wonderful to help other people manifest their own creativity and develop their soul.

What is your typical process for working with a new student?
After we connect I work with my students to determine a schedule and approach that satisfies their unique interests.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
MUSIC
I have a B.A. in Music Education, Major in Voice and a Minor in Piano. For Operatic coaching I have language abilities in French and Italian. I have extensive professional stage and theatrical performance credits, including the Merry Widow with the Cleveland Opera.
ART
Professional artist for over 30 years. Had my own signature gallery the B.J. Faulkner Gallery in Lenox, Massachusetts. International and celebrity collector base. Illustration portfolio, including United Airlines and Tanglewood.

How did you get started teaching?
People kept asking me if they would teach them art. I taught piano and voice throughout my life, I did a lot of piano instruction when my children were in their Elementary school years.
What types of students have you worked with?
For piano primarily, young children to pre-teens and some adults.
For painting the emphasis has been on adults who have an interest in furthering their technique.
