I have been teaching Saxophone, Clarinet and Flute for the last ten years starting in high school in Seattle, through college in Boston, and now in Portland. I have worked with students of all ages and skill levels and treat each student with the individual attention and care he or she requires in order to accomplish his or her musical goals. Everyone has a different reason for begining their musical journey, and I make sure that my students have specific goals that we will work to accomplish so that music can enhance their lives and the lives of those around them.
I have a degree in Jazz Performance from the New England Conservatory, where I studied with Jerry Bergonzi, Miguel Zenon and Donny McCaslin. I have performed at various festivals in Massachusetts, New York and Europe.

I absolutely love music, and I deeply enjoy watching my students progress, develop, and accomplish their goals. Music can enhance our lives, and a good music teacher can make his or her students' lives richer - that is what I want do for every student I work with.

What is your typical process for working with a new student?
My first step is to find out what each students individual aspirations are. Everyone gets into music for different reasons and having a clear vision as to waht we both want to accomplish is a critcal first step.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have 10 years of teaching experince. I have taught saxophone, clarinet, flute and piano to students ages 6-70. I took Music in Education classes at the New Engalnd Conservatory witch helped me improve as a teacher and learn new educational techniques.

Typical Rate is
$35 for 30 minutes
$45 for 45 minutes
$55 for 60 minutes
But I am flexible! I want people to be able to acces musical knowlegde regardless of their financial situation. So, if there are not do able for you, please contact me and hopefully we can mork something out.
How did you get started teaching?
I started teaching middle schoolers when I was a shopmore in high school.
