Erica Gewirtz Piano Lessons
About
I have a true passion for teaching. I started and operated my own studio for 12 years. I arranged recitals twice a year and gave my students opportunities to perform by arranging recitals in the community and for the elderly. I have seen the diversity of my students and can skillfully tailor lessons to meet the needs of my students. Included in lessons is also music theory and ear training.

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
If the student has never taken lessons, I get the student accustomed to the feel of the keyboard by joining the thumb and third finger so that they may play the keys with a balanced hand and get the feel of tapping the keys rather than pressing the keys.
if the student had previously taken lessons I listen to the student play something he/she is comfortable with, evaluate strengths and weaknesses and start them from a place where they will be challenged but still allows for correction of habits which may slow progress down.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
