About
In person lessons in NYC and Virtual Lessons for voice and piano
For 13 years I've helped performance-minded Classical, Musical Theater and Jazz singers develop a reliable, expressive technique and embrace their unique voice to become confident, evolving artists. In lessons you'll find clear, anatomy-based instruction, exploration and encouragement, and usually a lot of laughter. I teach in-person lessons in Brooklyn and teach virtually to students around the world! Please read through my rates on the FAQs page and leave a message about your interests and goals before contacting.
Education: I have my Master's of Music from the New England Conservatory and Bachelor's degrees in Voice and Theater from Wheaton College. My operatic training is with MaryAnn McCormick of the Metropolitan Opera and I currently specialize in the works of Handel, Mozart and modern composers. As a jazz vocalist, I've studied with the inimitable Brad Williams of the New 21st Century Review. For 6 years I was a core member of Arena Theater - one of Chicago's premier acting companies and currently perform on stages in Boston and New York. I studied voice for actors for four years with Jen Cribs, one of six teachers in the world certified to teach on behalf of Patsy Rodenburg - the world's leading expert on voice for the theater. My students have been admitted to top conservatories, performed in national tours, and debuted solo albums in Folk, Rock, Pop and Jazz styles.

What is your typical process for working with a new student?
We'll start with a 45-minute, virtual trial lesson ($20) to discuss your goals, consider what the first month of lessons could look like, go over my policies and then work on some music! If we decide that I am the teacher for you, we'll set up our lesson time, payment, etc. over email!
