About
I play and teach all styles of music and enjoy beginners just as much as advanced players. I also provide an added service for online students. I use the Jamulus Internet Jam Session server to connect to students that gives the fastest audio connection possible.

This removes all latency issues that you find on teleconferencing software like Zoom, Skype and others. Playing and grooving to the music together happens and it's like we're in the same room. There is no comparison! Adding this to enhance what I teach is a great way for me to combine my life-long music experiences with my IT background in a cool and fun way that makes online lessons really worth it.
I enjoy sharing the power of music and watching students grow artistically and personally. I truly believe in the healing power of music and feel humbled and honored to be able to help others discover it for themselves. Playing and teaching are my purpose and joy in life and where I feel I can do the most good in the world.

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
I explain that the study of a musical insrument involves 3 distinct things to learn at the same time, technique, reading, and music theory. These 3 parts are the physical, language and scientific/structure of what you'll be learning. This helps allow me to focus on technique first, with the student understanding that the other parts will be added after the basic skills of the hands are known. Progress in all 3 areas is much faster when technique is learned first.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
classical training as a youth. Guitar study and performance for 40 years. I have a education and teaching resume available on request.
I will paste a version of it here soon
Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.
I generally work like this for in home lessons:
You enroll by pre-paying for 2 lessons up front to my PayPal account that you can find with my email [email protected]
This is to reserve your weekly appointment and will eventually pay for your last 2 lessons with me. You must keep your weekly appointment and any cancellation must be received 24 hours in advanced or the lesson will be paid for from the Paypal account. You must maintain 2 lessons of payments prepaid via PayPal to keep your weekly appointment so forfeited lessons must be paid into the Paypal account.
You will have to pay for each lesson you take in person while enrolled. You will have your last 2 lessons pre-paid so when you give your 2 week notice I will teach you 2 more times without additional cost.
How did you get started teaching?
I started by forming and rehearsing bands and playing in community orchestras. I worked as an assistant teacher and also had many private guitar lessons at a variety of places.
