Varis taught both of my boys piano (first instrument) and then continued to teach one of my sons guitar. He instilled a love for music which has had a lasting effect. Hes a talented musician himself which was inspiring for my sons. Hes also super accessible and works with each student based on their music interests and skills/needs for development.
Having the lessons at home was extremely convenient given our hectic schedules, and Varis was always super flexible if we needed to make a scheduling shift.
My only constructive criticism is that with only half an hour for a lesson, I wish more time was spent on things that couldnt be done without Varis there (i.e. warming up, looking up online resources, etc.)

Varis has been teaching our 16 year old son guitar for 4 years and it is amazing how far he has come. Varis is great at knowing when to step on the gas and when to slow down a little. Hes made learning incredibly fun for our son and he cant get enough. I cant say enough how happy we are to have Varis as his teacher.

Varis has been our familys guitar teacher for about 8 years. He is professional, dedicated to our improvement and a really good teacher. We have taken lessons both in person and via Skype. The Skype lessons work great - you can take your lessons with you wherever you go!

Varis has been our rock for 5 years. He has worked with my younger daughter from 5th grade on. He has taught her guitar and now more recently piano. He has also worked with my older daughter in helping her to write music for cello. Her writings went into use as she recorded what they worked on the very next day on her first album appearance. Thank you Varis for always being there for us! Were huge fans!!!

If youre going to sink money into instrument lessons, you might as well expect results. Varis Ozols strikes the right balance between creating excitement and expecting improvement/results. We consider ourselves fortunate to have him teach our son piano.
