My teaching approach:
My teaching approach is based on a students goals, personality and interests. I like to model my lessons to the individual. I play 7 and 6 string guitar mainly metal and rock. I specialize in fast alternate picking, sweep picking, tapping and rhythm guitar and theory. I also teach song writing and recording in any genre. I have been teaching for 10 years and my students range from young beginners to advanced. I have a lot of experience with kids and teenagers in private lessons as well as band settings. My main goal is to make my students love and enjoy the guitar as much as I do!

We will talk about the music that you like as well as what you would eventually like to be able to play. If you have played in the past we will go over what you know and talk about what you liked or did not like about your last guitar teacher. After that we can make a play to help you achieve your goals.
A guitar lesson with me might entail the following:
Many of my intermediate and advanced students are interested in writing and theory usually in the style of rock and metal so often lessons will be spent learning and analyzing music, or writing and recording music or solos. I also like to emphasize scales and exercises to improve speed, technique and understanding of the fret board
