I have 10 years of teaching experience with students ranging the ages of four to sixty. I specialize in general music theory as well as classical piano. I have taught at several schools, worked as a tutor, and have conducted private lessons. My methodical approach teaches the student more than just how to play an instrument: it teaches patience, diligence and cultivates a rich appreciation for the history and culture behind the individual pieces they are learning. I develop individualized programs tailored to meet every student’s unique needs. I incorporate games and fun challenges into my sessions to keep the piano lessons interesting and enjoyable as well as structured and informative. My teaching approach is well rounded and goal-oriented: I structure my teaching so that my students can track their progress during the course of their lessons. I have experience with many levels of students, from absolute beginners to more intermediate players. With my beginner students, I teach rhythm and music theory, as well as the story behind the music so that they learn how to play with emotion as well as with structure. My style is contemporary paced, not traditionally strict style is more open and fun for students. This allows a more imaginative and creative learning process, with structure. Curriculum is tailored to students based on an individual’s interest.
