The Music Cellar
About
We can teach any student piano, guitar, violin and viola. From wanting to learn just for fun or eventually wanting to perform in places such as an orchestra or Carnegie Hall, we can do it all.
We make sure that our students have fun when they learn and we enjoy when the students come back to us years later with their own children, or just call us to say that we have helped them make a difference. We have been teaching for over 30 years and we hope to continue for many more. Many of our students make it to Carnegie Hall or perform in our recitals or competitions, and each one we make feel like family. 30 years of teaching.
Instructors have been trained at various establishments, with one instructor trained at Juilliard.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.
All lessons are $25.00 for one half hour, once a week. No group lessons. We have lessons Monday-Thursday from 2:00 pm to 9:00 pm.
How did you get started teaching?
What started as getting extra grocery money and teaching in the basement of a house has now, after 30 years, been formed into a successful, 5 room music studio with 10 different instructors on various instruments.
What types of students have you worked with?
We work with students of all ages, from 5 to 105, and can work with any child. We have students with dyslexia, movement problems, mental disorders. We can work with anyone.
Describe a recent event you are fond of.
Just recently, a man had called us and said that he was a student back in early 2001. He wanted us to know that because of our teaching, he is now travelling the country as a pianist.
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
Make sure that you find a teacher that you can connect with. If you are happy and comfortable with a teacher, you will be able to learn in a fun enviornment. If you are not happy with your teacher, feel free to let us know and we are more than happy to find a new one for you that you feel would be better.
