Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.
$22.00 per half-hour lesson.
How did you get started teaching?
Audience members who would hear me play at various venues began to ask if I'd be willing to teach them.
What types of students have you worked with?
I have worked with all types of students! Kids, adolescents, adults and seniors. After teaching more than 40 years I have found no two students exactly alike. That's why I approach each student with an appreciation for the unique needs of the individual.
Describe a recent event you are fond of.
I am fond of many events in my day to day teaching. Last week I taught a student a Led Zeppelin song which illustrated a certain technique we were working on. The student picked up the song pretty quickly. Near the end of the lesson we heard the studio door open and the kid yelled, "Hey Dad, Listen to this!"
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
Find a teacher who plays well, is knowledgeable, and is friendly and encouraging.
