About

Every lesson is customized to the specific student, their needs and learning style.

Every month we have a performance class -- this teaches the ability to perform, which is not something you can teach in a private lesson. Twice a year we have recitals, with a complete mix of music and abilities. All the students support one another. Piano and vocal solos -- piano and vocal duets -- trios -- quartets and studio ensembles/group numbers.

I am the director of childrens music ministries at a local church -- and have been for 16 years. I teach handbells and xylophone to the children, too. I participate in our yearly Christmas Cantata and so do the children!

In support of the Boys and Girls Clubs of America -- I volunteer at a local club teaching group piano, handbells and chorus! Music touches the soul. I love to share the music!

Being a member of Sweet Adelines for over 38 years, I have sung in award-winning choruses, placing in the top 10 in the world. This organization has incredible coaching and regional weekends with exceptional classes. I have sung with fantastic quartets and have coached quartets, as well. I get to share all this knowledge with my students!

I LOVE to teach -- students who want to learn and are eager to find their personal excellence! I teach ages 4 to 88. Adults are great students, they are highly motivated to do their best -- and for many, being able to sing or play the piano has been on their bucket list for years!

It is my privilege to recommend Robin Hudson as a top- notch music
educator for anyone interested in taking voice, piano or organ lessons. She has experience with students of all ages. If you are a beginner or someone who wishes to brush up on skills, she will take each student and grow their existing skill sets, focus on their special needs and help each one mature musically! Robin provides expertise, enthusiasm, and enjoyment at every lesson. You will learn to excel while having fun!
I have studied voice with Robin and also served as her accompanist when she directed the chorus at the Boys and Girls Club in Salisbury. Amazed at all the talent Robin was able to bring out in the children. I love to accompany her Youth Choir at Byfield Parish Church, where she teaches the youth to sing, play handbells and xylophone. In addition, I have been honored to be her studio accompanist for the past five years. Working with Robin in these capacities has provided me an insight into how an experienced and caring instructor can work with children and adults alike, bringing each one to his or her level of personal excellence

My story: About 8 years ago I decided I wanted to learn to sing. I found Robins Music Studio and Robin Hudson on line.
I explained to Robin that I thought I was tone dear and could not read music. I have a handicap of being blind in one eye and poor vision in the other.
Robin assured me that she could teach me to sing.
She has to be the most patient person I ever met. Each lesson she would spend a little extra time with me. Always encouraging and inspiring me -- and finding new ways to help me reach my goals. Week after week she would enlarge my music so I could read it. She would sing in my ear so I could hear how the notes went. We would clap our hands and tap our feet to learn rhythms of each song. Whatever help I needed, Robin found a way to help me.
I fee Robin went above and beyond knowing how badly I wanted to sing!
She is an incredible and amazing teacher that gives from her heart to each of her students.
During recital I have witnessed how her other students have grown. The Youth Choir at our church is being taught by Robin and they sing and play handbells at the same time! She has also taught two young ladies how to play the xylophone!
Robin has enriched my life tremendously and I recommend her highly.

Robin has a contagious enthusiasm for music. She encourages constant advancement and expects preparation, but she fosters an environment of enjoyment and celebration of achievement. Equally important, she requires the same things from herself, so she is an example of the very standards she looks for in her students.

Frequently asked questions

Every student is different.  I take the time to evaluate how they best learn.  I have a meeting first, to listen to what their dreams and desires are.  If it is an adult, we formulate a lesson plan together.  If it is with a child, a lesson plan is formulated with the parent.
