About

Offering distance learning opportunities and, beginning June 1, 2021, in-person lessons from a veteran music teacher. Skype, FaceTime, or Zoom lessons currently available.

The studio is located in historic Devens (formerly Fort Devens), about five minutes from Route 2, with easy access to the surrounding towns of Harvard, Groton, Shirley, Ayer, and several others. My students are in Devens, Boxborough, Acton, Maynard, Groton, Lunenburg, Leominster, Lancaster, Shirley, Hudson, Marlborough, and more!

The studio is well-ventilated (windows on three sides, air purifier in place), and I am fully vaccinated as is everyone in my household.

With over twenty years of teaching experience and Master's degree in music, I have an abundance of patience, a wealth of ideas and strategies at my fingertips, an ability to connect with students, and a finely-tuned ear.

My background includes working with all ages of students: as adjunct professor of music teaching violin, piano, and chamber music to college students; as maker of joyful music with littles; as instructor of violin and piano to folks returning to music in their retirement; as assistant director of an SATB community choir and a Unitarian Universalist congregation; as music and chorus teacher of elementary and middle school students; and a variety of other educational roles — many overlapping.

I love helping students discover and grow their interests and talents. Let’s see what we can create together!

Christina is not your average music teacher. My daughter took violin lessons from her for 5 years and is now in her 2nd year of piano. I’m amazed at how she’s not just learning skills but truly developing a love for music. Christina has a wonderfully supportive approach and the results are music to my ears!

We love learning piano from Christina. My son, now 12, has been studying with Christina weekly for 6 years. Whenever I ask if he wants to continue, he says yes before I even finish the question. She is organized, patient and respectful, while still holding the students to a very high standard of excellence. They have a wonderful rapport between the two of them. The progression of lessons has been perfect; a nice balance of challenge and success, and the pieces are interesting and engaging for him. She does a lovely job with recitals as well, always a very positive experience for all.

My two children are entering into their fifth year of music lessons with Christina Kennedy. She has taught both of them piano, violin and vocal training. My home is frequently filled with the most beautiful music as a result of her patient and skilled guidance with my kids. She is a wonderful music teacher and I wholeheartedly recommend her to anyone of any age.

    Frequently asked questions

Consistency is key, especially for beginning students, so I will work with you to find a day and time that suits your family's needs.

In December and June, students will have the opportunity to perform in low-stress recitals for family, friends, and other students and their families.

My students are encouraged but not required to participate in a year-end recital and in smaller performances throughout the year.  There is no recital fee.
