"Beautiful Spring" is a mother and daughter piano teaching group. The mother Ms. Yuan had been teaching music to children and youth for 25 years. In Ms. Yuan’s teaching, she likes to use many interactive approaches, such as performing rhythmic movements, painting color pictures, explaining music stories, etc., in order to make young children easily understand the concept of rhythm, tempo, the ways to touch keys, and the flows in music stories.
In the past eight years, Ms. Yuan has been teaching one-on-one piano lessons to children from 6 to 12 year olds in the Malden area. Her teaching is focused on the fundamental skills and expressing emotions in music performance. Among her students, there are outstanding individuals who have won awards in different levels of piano competitions, including counties and cities.
Her daughter Mei Lei started to learn to play the piano at the age of 4. She studied under the professors and performers from the national music conservatory. From there, she received training in strict classical piano performances. At the same time, she has a deep understanding of the advanced stages of piano performance skills and music emotion processing. She teaches one-on-one lesson to youth over 12 years old and adults.
Today, Mei Lei is also a documentary filmmaker. Her documentary works have won multiple awards at international film festivals. In addition to documentary filmmaking, she is also engaged in film score composition. Thanks to her childhood music education, Mei Lei believes that music, film, and philosophy of life are deeply linked.
“Beautiful Spring” emphasizes the training of fundamental skills in classical piano performance. Just like building a house, you have to first strike the foundation and frame. Only with a solid foundation can we explore freely in more music fields.
Playing the piano requires the use of left and right brains simultaneously. Learning playing the piano can help the brain to develop the ability for right and left hands coordination.
