Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
We always start with a conversation, by reviewing goals and students' expectations. Then we proceed to have the students play whatever piece she/he/they prepared, and assess what our lessons would be like: which technique book, scales, concerto, piece, etc.
In case the student wants to start learning from the beginning, we visit every aspect of the instrument: its parts, and how it works. Then, progressively we start playing short pieces. It is fascinating to see how fast they progress and move through the Suzuki method!
We organize everything with a very specific schedule so we can ensure there is time for practicing regularly.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have a Masters in Music Performance and a Masters in Science in Music Education
How did you get started teaching?
I started teaching because I fell in love with it, I enjoy transmitting my knowledge to others, so that wave keeps moving throughout time!
