About

I have the most fun with my instrument when I make rapid progress with something I'm learning. I want my students to have that same experience. Seeing results motivates us to practice more. I want my students to get into this positive spiral of success, so they can progress faster than anyone around them.

I have no specific method that I use for every new student. I design lesson plans depending on a student's current skill level and music goals.

I enjoy teaching beginners and intermediate guitarists. It gives me the chance to correct any bad habits and show them methods that work and speed up their progress with the instrument.

I also like helping advanced players getting through plateaus, by showing them systems and approaches to the instrument that they may not know about yet.

Andy is a terrific, highly knowledgable and passionate instructor. I have studied under Andy for 7 months now, and I can honestly say that I learned more in my first 3 weeks with Andy than I had learned in 3 years of my previous, non-personalized online instruction. I highly recommend him.

Andy has been working with my son for under a year now. At first we came upon Andy because my son had auditions for High School and he was nowhere prepared. My son decided he wanted to play the guitar and he had zero experience playing the guitar. The biggest challenge was that his auditions were in a little less than 2 months. I didn’t know if we would find an instructor who would be willing to teach him. We had a small amount of time but Andy was not worried about it. He was ready for the challenge. Andy was very understanding, helpful and dedicated to helping my son learn all he needed in such a short time. Thanks to Andy’s great teaching’s-my son rocked his auditions. My son got accepted to the High School of his dreams. Today, I watch my son practice and I could have never imagined that he would be able to play all on his own. He now takes initiative to perform at church and he looks for new challenges to improve his guitar skills. He looks forward to his guitar lessons with Andy each week. What can I say, I am forever grateful to you Andy.

Andy is a professional teacher. He is passionate about what he does. He has a thought out plan and lesson material ready for download after every lesson. He is always available for questions throughout the week if needed. My only regret is not being close enough to take lessons in person.

Andy has been an amazing guitar for my teenage boy. He really listens to my son’s music likes/dislikes and makes learning and practicing fun! Andy is very responsive to email and helps make lessons work around our busy schedules. I would recommend him to anyone looking to learn guitar!

I started teaching guitar while I was still a student at Berklee. First, I showed a few things to my band mates. Then our drummer recommended that I start putting out some flyers to get more clients. Eventually I realized that I enjoy teaching more than gigging, so I made it my fulltime job after graduating from Berklee.

I have been teaching students of various skill levels including complete beginners and semi-professional guitarists between the ages of 6 - 80.

A good guitar player is not necessarily a good guitar teacher. And not every good guitar teacher is the right teacher for every student. Make sure you have a good connection with your teacher.

It's important that a guitar teacher can understand a student's needs and show the student exactly how to progress. He/she needs to be able to show a student the necessary skills.

A good teacher also understands the psychological aspects of learning the guitar. Our mindset is more important than anything when it comes to learning an instrument.

Why are some people more motivated than others to practice?

Why do some people have a strong desire to master an instrument while others give up?

How can we become more motivated and more passionate?

These are all questions I can answer if you pick me as your guitar teacher :)
