Kathleen Massoud Piano Studio
About
I have happily taught piano students of all ages and levels since 1980 when my husband and I began Massoud Piano Studio in our home. I received my advanced piano training at Hartt College of Music as a piano major and later on at Longy School of Music. Although I am classically trained, I am happy to explore and teach other genres of music (Pop. folk, jazz, etc.) if the student so desires. I love teaching beginners of all ages, including adult beginners, as well as more advanced students up to the late intermediate/early advanced level. I have composed 13 published collections of piano pieces (Alfred Publishing), including a Sightplaying series as well as over 20 piano solos. My students especially enjoy playing these pieces written by their teacher! I offer online lessons via Zoom or FaceTime which many students and parents have found convenient and I am able to teach students from anywhere in the country. I try to adapt my teaching style and expectations to the individual student, as every student has a unique personality and goals for taking lessons. I try especially hard to find music that is motivating for each student. Every year students have the opportunity to participate in a Spring Recital video production where students prerecord their pieces at home. My husband and I chose to make music and teaching piano our career and it has brought me much joy and satisfaction to hear students express how much it has meant to them in their lives.
