About
I have had great success with young beginners. My goal is for them to learn the basics of sight reading, music theory and practice in a relaxed and enjoyable way. I try to promote good habits as well as the understanding of the music they are playing, and encourage them to seek out songs at their level that they already know and like.
I've been teaching for about 10 years, now I teach in homes as well as group online lessons. I am flexible about this, whatever works for the student and their family.
I've been playing all my life, and I now regularly play and perform with other musicians. Music, and specifically piano and keyboard music, are my passion!

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
I like to chat with the student or their parent through email, text, phone call or in person to determine expectations and to share my teaching process. Then we get started, adjusting teaching methods and materials depending on the student's progress and interests.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I've been playing piano my whole life, taking private lessons througout my childhood I've been teaching for about 10 years.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.
I usually charge $30 per half hour, or $60 per hour.
How did you get started teaching?
I posted on social media and just got started with students! Referrals and siblings are my usual method of increasing my student roster. I also work for a company that offers group piano lessons in school afterschool programs.
What types of students have you worked with?
Mostly children, as young as 5 or 6, some teens and adults.
Describe a recent event you are fond of.
I play in a local cover band, and at our last gig, people cheered and danced to our music. It was great!
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
Have an idea of the kind of music you'd like to learn, your taste and favorite artists. At the same time, be open to different genres and styles.
What questions should students think through before talking to teachers about their needs?
See the above answer!
