Merandi Piano Lessons
About
I'm a classical pianist. I've been playing for 50 years and teaching for 36 years. I am very patient and excel with beginners to intermediate students. I teach any kind of music style the student likes, from easy listening to classical. I also try to make learning fun. My students look forward to coming to their sessions with me. Proud parents are always complementing me on their children's progress, as well as new adult students too! I teach all ages.
The satisfaction of seeing the joy on a student's face when they can sit at a piano and feel confident playing a song.

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
I teach at the individual students' level. Everyone is different and learns in different ways. I find what works for each student so they feel confident in their progress.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have been a classical pianist for 50 years and love teaching.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.
I charge $40 for half hour lessons.
I charge $60 for an hour lesson.
If there are 2 or more students in the same family, or if you are living on a limited budget, let me know, and I can discount the cost. I teach because I love to teach. Its not just about the money.
How did you get started teaching?
I started teaching when a neighbor got a piano from a friend but no one in her family knew how to play. We were talking one night and she asked me how much I would charge her to teach her 2 young daughters . I knew she couldn't really afford to pay, so I offered to teach them for free. Well, after a couple of lessons, her daughters were already playing little songs. She was so happy that she started telling other mothers about me. I started getting phone calls requesting I teach their children, and even adults called wanting lessons. I had 36 students within 3 months from when I gave my first free lessons, and I've loved teaching ever since!
What types of students have you worked with?
I have worked with children as young as 4 to adults as old as 82.
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
Find a teacher who will teach you as an individual and not as a robot. If you have the right teacher you will enjoy your learning experience.
