Welcome to Maritime Music Studio! My teaching focuses on inspiring students to be creative with music. With an extensive background in jazz, blues, rock and world music, I am passionate about helping students find the music that speaks to them and develop their own voice on their instrument. I have been teaching for over 17 years and I pride myself on my ability to simplify difficult concepts like Music Theory to help students of all skill levels learn the skills necessary to grow and enjoy making music.

These days we all have access to YouTube and various online resources, but we have difficulty knowing what we should be working on. The internet rarely gives constructive feedback and when we want to really accelerate our progress with music, that’s exactly what we need. It’s also exactly what I offer - personalized lesson plans for each student, based precisely on where you are and where you’d like to go. Within the first few minutes of our lesson I can evaluate what you should work on to reach your goals.

As a graduate of Berklee College of Music, I’m also aware of the challenges that come with applying for music school and preparing for auditions can be like. I’ve helped many students achieve acceptance to prestigious music programs and to start on their careers in music.
