I totally understand some of students haven't decided to pursue being a professional musician when they are taking music lessons. In my teaching philosophy, music is an essential element for human beings which has existed in part of their mind. With my passion and commitment, I cultivate students’ souls and develop their independence, sensibility, and enthusiasm, which can help them express deep human emotions thorough music education.
I do accept all kinds of students who have different personalities.

FAQs

What is your typical process for working with a new student?

To understand and make an agreement between teacher (me) and new students. I would like to know their music background: when did they start playing? What type of music they like? What piano/clarinet materials are they using now? And, what do they want to improve in music (or goal)? , etc.

After I totally understnad all details about my new students, I would give them some my suggestions in music materials and my teaching principles.

What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

My music training started when I was 5, and I took piano lessons first. At the age of 12, I started learning clarinet. Besides, I took music theory, music history, ear training, and musicology courses until I finished my master degree of music.

I got my bachelor degree of piano and clarinet performance from Taichung University of Education in Taiwan. Then, I succesfully earned master degree of clarinet performance from Peabody conservatory of Johns Hopkins University.

Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.

Based on 8 years teaching experiences.

For piano lesson, I am willing to travel to my students' house. My rate is $70/hr.

For clarinet lesson, welcome to come to my studio in Cambridge or to travel to your place.

What types of students have you worked with?

Beginner, Intermediate, and Advanced .
