About
At M. Austin's Music Lessons, I believe that open communication builds trust between families and private instructors.
I have a B.M. in Music Education from Syracuse University after I graduated in May 2020. I graduated with my Master's degree in Instrumental Conducting and Oboe Performance at George Mason University.
During my student teaching at Syracuse, I gave lessons to students ages 8-14 in all Concert Band instruments. I have training giving instruction on all instruments!
My main instrument is the oboe, and I currently teach private oboe lessons to students age 11-18.

I plan to get to know your student on a personal level to make sure each lesson we have together builds on their unique talents and skills. Every lesson will build on the previous knowledge we have established in the prior lessons so every student's musical abilities grow each week.
In addition to giving oboe lessons, I also make oboe reeds. Studying privately with me ensures students will play on high quality reeds which I hand-make!
