About
A little about me, I have a B.M. in Music Education from Syracuse University and a duel master's degree in Instrumental Conducting and Oboe Performance from George Mason University. I believe that open communication builds trust between families and private instructors!
I currently teach private oboe lessons to students age 11-18 and also sell reeds to my students! My Etsy shop can be found here: https://www.etsy.com/shop/MaddysReeds
I plan to get to know your student on a personal level to make sure each lesson we have together builds on their unique talents and skills. Every lesson will build on the previous knowledge we have established in the prior lessons so every student's musical abilities grow each week.

Lessons will be $70 per hour or $35 for 30 minutes. An hour is recommended so we can work on oboe and reed making in one lesson!
How did you get started teaching?
I began working in schools when I was fourteen and have been studying music since I was six years old. Learning music is an essential part of all students' education and can truly impact their experiences in school. Taking private lessons is an opportunity for students to truly experience all the benefits music has to offer.

I have worked will students from the ages four to twenty-six. I have worked will all populations of learners. I have taught music to students ages eight to twenty-six and I have taught English and math skills to students ages four to thirteen. I have taught music at a post-secondary institution for students with different learning abilities.
