South Shore Conservatory - attended 1968 to 1970 during high school. Then took lessons from Boston Symphony member from 1970 to high school graduation in 1972

Have taught piano for 42 years.
I teach in the students home. In addition to the regular lesson plan I allow the student to chose a piece, within reason, that they want to play. I will arrange the piece to their playing level. Music history and theory taught as well. Students play games such as musical math, tic-tac-toe, hang man, bingo, spelling. etc.
I love teaching music and being a part of a students educational process. My father, brother, sister and 2 nephews are music teachers as well.

What is your typical process for working with a new student?
The first thing I do is to find out what the student knows or doesn't know about music. Their music experience through school or outside activities.
