Wayland School of Music is your local option for outstanding music instruction. We believe that ALL students, whether beginner or developing artist, deserve an experienced, enthusiastic teacher with a record of excellence as both teacher and performer.

We offer a warm welcome to all ages and levels of students, and opportunities to perform for appreciative local audiences.

We love helping our students to discover the joy of music and develop their own musical voice, while building a reliable technical foundation. As one happy customer says, "It is such a joy to watch a true love for skill in playing music develop in the hearts of young children!"

My own early teachers were not the greatest, therefore I had to figure out a lot myself to make it to the conservatory and then make it as a performer. More about this here: https://waylandmusic.com/about-us/why-we-teach

All ages from 3 and up. We offer a warm welcome to all students - our outstanding teachers have many years of experience.

We have recitals to celebrate our students' progress twice a year. Whethere in person or on zoom, they are always wonderful events! They include students age 3 and up, playing everything from "Hot Cross Buns" to professional level repertoire.

There are three essential qualitites to look for, and I wrote about them in an article called "How to Choose a Private Lesson Teacher":

What their goals are in learning an instrument
How much time they will be able to spend each day/week
What they think their challenges are
What they are most excited about
