Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
We would first talk to the student to fully understand his/hers needs. If not a beginner, the student would be asked to play a song, which will help the teacher determine the level the student is on and he/she would proceed from there.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
All of our teahers have Master Degrees in their major instrument, and all have been teaching for over 5 years.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.
All prices are based on the length of a lesson. All prices are the same for adult students or children.
How did you get started teaching?
Since all of our teachers have only been studying music and getting their degrees, it is natural for them to choose that path of passing their knowledge to their students.
What types of students have you worked with?
Children as young as 2 and adults as old as 74. All levels and abilities.
We have aslo worked with children with disabilities.
Describe a recent event you are fond of.
The Nutcracker ballet.
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
Meet with them, talk to them, make sure the teacher is a good match with your personality. Ask for some videos of his/her students, to determine whether you are about to study with a good and knowledgable instructor.
What questions should students think through before talking to teachers about their needs?
What should I do at home? How much should I practice if I want to progress? Are there performance opportunities?Do you have practice tips to maximize results.
