I love Music and teaching others to play songs and understand how music works. My goal is to help each student achieve their desired level of proficiency in music and to enjoy the process along the way.
I have been teaching music for over 20 years in Baldwin, M. I am a member of MTNA (Music Teachers National Association), MSMTA (Maryland State Music Teachers Association) and MTAGB (Maryland Teachers Association of Greater Baltimore)
Playing an instrument helps people relax and builds confidence - it's also great for your brain.

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
If they've been playing music for a while, I ask them to play a few songs so I can assess where we should start and how I can help them.
I find out what type of music they enjoy listening to and would like to play, their favorite groups, etc. I work with them so they can play music with friends and family, including adults with younger children or grandchildren.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I studied Music through years of private lessons, in college and at a Music Conseratory. I had three professional / certified teachers (with completely different styles) which had a significant impact and influenced me to develop a winning style for my students.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.
Weekly In Person lessons: (4 lessons per month)
90 minutes $330 ($82.50 per lesson)
60 minutes $220 ($55.00 per lesson)
45 minutes $165 ($41.25 per lesson)
30 minutes $110 ($27.50 per lesson)
What types of students have you worked with?
I have worked with students as young as 4 years old and adults in their 90's. Some students have never had a lesson before and some students had been taking lessons with a previous teacher. In addition, i have worked with students with mild learning disabilities and they were able to enjoy the lessons and progress.
Describe a recent event you are fond of.
I have 2 concerts per year, one in December and one in the summer. In June, 2019 there were 25 student performers playing guitars, keyboards along with a professional bass player and drummer (hired to accompany the students). We played Bohemian Rhapsody, Perfect, Layla, I Wish (Stevie Wonder), My Heart Will Go On (Titanic) and Beatles - just to name a few.
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
Definitely get referrals from current and previous students. Arrange a brief introductory meeting with the teacher to be sure that you can work together.
What questions should students think through before talking to teachers about their needs?
Do you teach theory, reading music (standard notation), tablature, how to play by ear. (I teach all of this.)
