GUITAR LESSONS WITH KAREN GOLDBERG Since 2000, I've taught both electric and acoustic guitar, Mondays-Saturdays at my home in Reisterstown. I have a Bachelor's degree in Teaching from Towson University. I ask folks to set up and pay for lessons by the month (minimum of 4 per month,) I teach what I call recreational guitar; learning to play the songs and styles you like, and incorporating some music theory as we go. I make sure that our lessons retain the joy and fun that music can inspire, while learning to play an instrument.
I like working with all different skill levels, but I seem to have a tremendous amount of patience with beginners. I love figuring out how to connect with a student so that they make progress via their way of learning - some folks are visual learners and need to look at the page; others are auditory and learn a skill by listening to it and imitating what they hear. Some folks love a big challenge, others do better taking smaller steps. I enjoy the process of identifying HOW someone learns best and then applying it to playing songs they want to do. And I also can help with songwriting - I was a touring singer songwriter for many years with 6 CDs of original music, which you can hear on Spotify and Pandora
