About
I've been teaching for more than four decades, three of which were as a Professor of Music at a distinguished liberal arts college. I have a Doctorate in Piano Performance from the Peabody Conservatory, where my teacher was the renowned Leon Fleisher. I also have Masters in Piano Performance from the Yale School of Music and a B.A. from Harvard, where I majored in music. I perform regularly as a soloist and collaborative musician. What makes me special is, quite simply, my years of experience. I have studied with great masters and have honed my teaching skills over the years. I've been through a lot, career-wise. I know how to listen, how to help, how to relate to each student as a unique individual. I love that I learn as much from my students as they learn from me.
I especially enjoy teaching adults who want to improve their technique and musicianship and/or want to get back to the piano after being away from it. I also welcome intermediate to advanced students of any age.
