The Maryland Performing Arts Institute, founded in 1983, is dedicated to shaping the future of the arts in Maryland. Located in Towson and serving the surrounding areas, MPAI originated as the Music Preparatory Division of Towson University. Today, it's a non-profit organization that offers comprehensive music instruction for all ages, levels, and abilities. MPAI maintains a strong connection with Towson University, operating from the campus's Center for the Arts building, and is committed to providing quality instruction in music, voice, and theater.
