Byrd Inspiration Airshows & Guitar Lessons
About
Friendly and Humble Greetings,
My name is Doug Byrd and I am a life student in all my areas of expertise; especially with regards to my instruction. I have to study, learn, and dynamically adapt to each one of my students in order to provide them with the most efficient and effective instruction possible. I am great with kids too. And I have an extremely open mind and am very flexible; so please feel free to talk to me; feedback good or bad always helps to accomplish the common objective.
I specialize in Bass/ Lead Guitar, and Aviation. All of which I do professionally. I also instruct Beginner American Sign Language
Music: I have been teaching and playing both bass and lead professionally since 2006 back when I was in High School. The music that I specialize in is Gospel, R/B, Blues, Jazz, Funk, Reggae, and anything with a groove. I both instruct and gig every week.
Aviation: Since before I can remember I knew that I was destined to fly. I earned my Private Pilots License in 2008 the year I graduated from High School and have accumulated +400 hours of flight time earning Instrument Rating and on the cusp of my Commercials. I have been flying as an aerobatic competition pilot for 3 years and dream of flying airshows someday soon. I have worked and tutored with the East Coast Chapter Tuskegee Airmen Youth In Aviation Program since 2009 aiding and mentoring High School students in obtaining their PPL. I have also instructed with Aviation Ed. and at Cardozo High School Trans Stem Academy.
American Sign Language: When I was in the 1st grade my deaf aunt gave me and my cousins a poster of the ASL alphabet and I have been signing every since. I took ASL 1 in college and that is where I gained insight within the fascinating deaf culture and what ASL really was.
