I've been playing all types of guitar for about 7 years. I play classical guitar music like Villa-Lobos or Carcassi, and also jazz like Chick Corea or Charlie Parker. I also spend a lot time playing rock music like Pink Floyd or even just improvising!
I am a senior at Barbara Ingram School for the Arts where I study classical guitar. There, I learn about guitar technique and music theory. I perform at recitals, concerts and juries and am graded on performance.
Outside of school, I have also been studying with Maurice Arenas for about 3 years. There, I learn more about technique and music. I learn all types of guitar from jazz to metal.
I want to share my knowledge with you and help you become the best guitarist and musician that you can be!

What is your typical process for working with a new student?
First I would ask the student if they know how to read music and find out what their skill level is by hearing them play. I would go from there and ask what genre or style they would like to learn. I would then go from there and teach the student about the basics of that style or genre first. I would teach the student anything they would want to learn and anything that will make them a better musician.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.
I would charge $15 for a 30 minute lesson and $25 for an hour lesson if you travel to my house. If I travel to your house I would charge $17 for a 30 minute lesson and $27 for an hour lesson.
How did you get started teaching?
I haven't started teaching yet but I would like to because I think music is very important in life and I want to share my knowledge about it. I want to help people meet their musical goals and be good at something they love.
What types of students have you worked with?
I haven't worked with any students yet but at my school, Barbara Ingram school for the arts, I help the underclassmen with things they don't understand. I'm eager to help more people and teach students about music!
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
Look for someone who really wants to help you reach YOUR goals. Someone who will make you better and will work at your weaknesses.
