My influences are: My influences range from just about anywhere. I have played jazz, funk, rock, and many styles, professionally. I am a member of Chopteeth Afrofunk Big Band. A band that has released two WAMMIE winning albums, played at top venues, and collaborated with international musicians. www.chopteeth.com My guitar lessons take place in: The teacher's studio Guitar Lessons with me take place in the following areas: Studio Academy Music Olney, MD Guitar Techniques: Guidance In Equipment Selection, Performance, Improvisation, Jamming Skills, Reading Music, Music Theory, Scales and Exercises, Song Writing, Lead guitar, Rhythm guitar, Open tuning, Fingerstyle, Slide Guitar Your first guitar lesson with me might include the following: As an introduction, the student and teacher will briefly explore the guitar and play a simple or more complicated piece of music depending on the skill level of the student. Rhythm on guitar is introduced as early as possible as well, to form a strong foundation on which to build on. A guitar lesson with me might entail the following: Lessons can run from half hour to hour intervals and involve teaching a mixture of planned music. Often this may include music ranging from traditional American or world folk or popular music to modern rock, jazz, or really any other genre that is interesting. Theory and improvisation is often explored as well. The qualities I look for in an ideal guitar student might include the following: An ideal student is anyone that is willing to play music. We are all different and everyone has their own style.
