Divergent Music
About
Like any successful music teacher, we work with students to identify how they learn, what their goals are, and tailor lessons to match their end game.
If you just want to learn a song, we can help. If you want to be a rockstar, we can also help.
As long as we know what we're working toward, we can help!
I enjoy watching the learning process in action. I often walk away from sessions feeling like I learned just as much as I taught.
Music is one of those weird things that you can never perfect, you can only get better, or as we put it:
Progress; not perfection.

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
The first session is all about identifying goals and areas within your technique where we have opportunities for improvement.
Basically, we'll jam a bit so I can see your current process and help you add to it vs taking away from what already works for you.
From then, a typical sesh is warm up, theory and practical application, recap, then homework.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have no formal training per se, though I have helped quite a few people through their college music courses.
I've been a hardcore theory nut for about 10 years, and I'll talk about it with anyone who will listen.
