My teaching approach:

Every lesson is different. I teach what you want to learn or what you need to learn to reach a specific goal. Wether it be songs theory technique or reading sheet music the student holds the reins. I won't waste your time ranting, showing off my skills or playing my guitar

My influences are:

I love old blues and classic rock. I also like folk,country, bluegrass, alternative, indie, jazz, classical, basically anything but rap althoughI have helped students learn JZ Lill Wayne and other r&b artists.

Your first guitar lesson with me might include the following:

I always ask you to tell me what you know already and go from there. Go over tuning, a finger exercise to build finger strength and some basic chords. By lesson 1 or 2 beginners usually learn at least one song. After a half dozen lessons students are usually plaing songs that they love and feeling confident in their abilities.

A guitar lesson with me might entail the following:

I usually like to start with review and then on to any new material. But you call the shots.

The qualities I look for in an ideal guitar student might include the following:

The ideal student to me loves music and wants to learn to participate in the world of making and playing music.
