My teaching approach:
I try to offer much more than the average teacher. After the very first lesson a beginner guitar student will have the ability and knowledge of improvising their own solo's. As well as starting to learn their very first song (any song at all, chosen by the student). We will take this song and break it down to its basics and cover all the Music theory involved in that song. Already after the first lesson the student will now be improvising, learning a song, and have theory knowledge pertaining to their interests. I also have pro-recording gear which I use for take home jam tracks.
My influences are:
Jimi Hendrix, Eric Clapton, Pink Floyd, Blues Travelers, Heart, GnR, Sublime, OAR, Dispatch.... What ever i can get my hands on and provides a challenge. My guitar lessons take place in:

During the first lesson we would discuss what your goals on the guitar are, what styles of music you're interested in, if you're interested primarily in lead guitar or rhythm guitar. If you are not a beginner then we would start to asses what you know and want/need to learn. This includes technique, chords, styles, scales, theory ... the list goes on.A guitar lesson with me might entail the following:
This all depends on what your goals are. For example if you were interested in learning how to improvise on the guitar we might cover anything from scales, chord tone exercises, learning popular licks so you have a sort of library to pull from while playing...The qualities I look for in an ideal guitar student might include the following:
In my book there is no such thing as the perfect guitar student. Everyone learns at different speeds. If you have contacted me for guitar lessons then this is something you are obviously interested in. If for some reason you begin to lose interest and don't have the motivation to pick the instrument up and play/practice; then this means a failure on the teachers part.
