I have a great deal of experience working with teenagers to adults. I have coached many singers to prepare them for auditions in theater, but also teach general vocal technique and both beginning and advanced vocal skills. My knowledge of repertoire is extensive. In addition to teaching music K-12, I taught conducting and voice at Aquinas College, and directed three vocal ensembles. In the late 1980s, I competed in a state-wide university based vocal competition, and placed first in the adult category. I have many years of experience in church music ministry as well, and developed worship teams in addition to directing traditional choirs....

I had looked everywhere for an accompanist, short of accompanying the production myself as well as directing, and I was not convinced that I could do both. I'm not even sure now how we exactly came into contact with each other, but Sainz and I did make a connection, and within two weeks of the performance, she not only accompanied rehearsals remaining, including the performances with concert skill in October of 2009 at a major venue in Lafayette - The historic Long Center Theater, but also undertook accompanying the production once again in January 2010 after the cast, comprised of individuals from Bloomington, Indiana to Lafayette, Indiana, desired to perform it again at a High School in Lafayette, Indiana. I have absolute faith that anyone who works with Susan at StudioSainz will have the best results in learning to play, as well as the skill to perform at any level their determination drives them to achieve. 2021 B.S. graduate with 30 years background in singing/voice, trained in opera (bel canto), musical theater/Broadway, cabaret, and jazz. Have taught students age 15-up the basics from proper breathing techniques to tonality, and chest belt to vocal expression, for personal and the stage. We have been with Triumph Music a little over 2 years and have had the best experience imaginable. We have had my daughter taking piano and drums lessons in that time and she has excelled more than we could have imagined, I have also been taking guitar lessons with James and have had a great experience. My daughter has also been playing in one of the bands that the director James Hughes has put together, they have played numerous great gigs in that time and absolutely loves it. I cannot say enough about the staff that James has put together to ensure the best direction for their students. They are very compassionate about the music they teach the students. James does an excellent job and goes above and beyond to ensure his staff and the students excel. I recommend Triumph to anyone wanting to learn a musical talent.
