What is your typical process for working with a new student?
**ONLINE LESSONS ONLY**
I typically ask them what their goals are. If they are clearly defined, we work to achieve them. If their goals aren't well defined, we first establish them, then we form a plan to meet them.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
2008 Musicians Institute Graduate
15 Years teaching experience.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.
$80 per hour lesson (includes one free 20 minute follow up consultation to be used within 3 days of first lesson).
How did you get started teaching?
I started teaching in college back in 2005 when friends were interested in learning. After I finished school in 2008, I began teaching professionally full time. I operated my own lesson business from 2009 - 2015 until I started touring proffesionally full time.
What types of students have you worked with?
I've worked with start from scratch beginners, and I've worked with touring professionals.
Describe a recent event you are fond of.
I recently brought back a lot of my guitars from my storage container in California, home to Michigan!
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
Practice slowly before trying to play fast. If you can play it perfect slowly, you can play it perfectly. Let's focus on one thing at a time.
