Professional Classical Guitarist, Lead Guitarist, Composer. Performed at many different events including the Governor of Michigan, Goverment Events, Universities, Concerts, Country Clubs. 80's Lead guitarist in Performing Band with EP. Teach flat picking, fingerstyle, and true classical guitar styles, electric and acoiustic. I also teach musical theory, reading musical notation, chord charts, tabs. I try to make guitar lessons fun and get students to play actual music quickly. I believe in getting basic chords first in order to get a student to play songs.
I enjoy seeing student learn to play the guitar at all levels, esecpially those who say they can never play. I enjoy brining people in to the faternity of guitarists and have them open a whole new world of music that they can play and compose on thier own.

I typically want to undersatnd what the students goals are; what type of music, what they are trying to accomplish. I work with them not only on the specific techniques they are looking to develop, but alos the music they want to play. I let each student progress at thier own rate and each student is taught based on thier own unque hand size/dexterity, and capabilities. I also want to undersatnd thier performace goals (if any), i.e just for some freinds, performing artist, song writer, singer/guitarist, band, etc...
I have been playing and performing guitar for almost 50 years. I am professional performing classical guitarist. I have a classical CD out with 10 original compositions. I played in several rock bands, (touring) and had a long list of original material that I wrote. I have taught for several cities for guitar programs for adults and kids.

I have taught guitar most of my life, mostly after people have been to a performance and approached me.
Adults, kids, absolute beginners, cross over guitarists (i.e rock guitarists who want to learn finger picking or classical or vice versa), students who want to learn to read musical notation, students who are looking to improve their technique
Find a teacher that will teach you how to be musical, not just technical. Someone who won;t just take a "learn to play guitar book" and just push you to play indvidual notes. A teacher who will allow your hands to develop, while playing actual music, and then introduce you to reading music after you have become at least comfortable playing basic chords
Know what you want to get from the guitar in terms of goals. Know hom much time you have to practice outside of the lessons (there are no short cuts to muscle memory in the hands),
