Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
The overall goal is twofold, learn to operate the instrument correctly, learn how music works. Of course we start simply by learning a few notes at a time as our hands get used to working the instrument.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I am an alumni of Oakland University and Berklee College of Music. I started teaching in the late 70's. I have also been a performer and studio musician for over 35 years.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.
Rates do vary some, my home studio starts at $25/half hour, students home starts at $35/half hour. I am available at Motor City Guitar in Waterford and the rate there is only $18/half hour.
What types of students have you worked with?
I work with everybody, I generally start with students 10-12, depending on individual case, I don't turn down anyone interested in learning music!
