About

Hello!

My music studio brings in students from all walks of life and of all ages. I have the distinct pleasure of teaching little ones with a love for music to adults who are excited returning to the piano or are starting for the first time! My background is quite diverse: a BA in Music, Piano Performance Cum Laude, jazz performing and composing, pianist for dance and theater, and I specialize the The Taubman Technique, a facile and natural method of piano playing. With this diversity, I tailor lessons to get my students excited about learning and staying motivated. If you have a moment, please go to my website: ChristinaDragone.mymusicstaff.com. There you'll find more information.

I look forward to creating a fun and meaningful musical experience with you!

Christina

I love sharing and igniting the passion to create, to find the beauty and the joy of making music. My students and I have fun making musical discoveries, growing, learning in a positive environment and sharing those talents with others through recitals, group performances, school performances, senior homes, etc. For me, performing and composing complete the circle of staying musically involved, developing in myself what I hope to instill in my students....the best I can offer!

Christina Dragone is great. I would highly recommend her. Thanks so much for helping Megan with her project. Her teacher emailed me and said Megan should be your press agent because she said such wonderful things about you in her presentation. Looks like you have made quite an impression on her. Thank you for teaching Megan to love playing piano.

Frequently asked questions

We have a lesson interview in which I can access the student's ability, needs and we can decide if we're a good match for each other. I use a variety of methods, so this gives me the opportunity to match the student to materials best suited to their needs.

I have a B.A. In Music, Piano Performance Major

In addition, I took many graduate classes in music, both classical and jazz composing, arranging and performing as well as lessons to retrain using Taubman Technique, which focuses on natural motor movement and musical playing.

It's best to contact me so we can discuss lesson length, what you're looking for in a time commitment and then pricing.

Believe it or not, I started teaching in high school! After college I picked up teaching again, taught at Blue Lake School of the Arts and the summer camp. My move to Metro Detroit was for an academic position at WSU, and I taught privately at home.

My students come from all walks of life. Little ones with a desire to learn, adults returning after years of not playing, adults starting for the first time, accomplished musicians needing help with technique and others who want to learn to improvise or play jazz as well as classical music.

My students, children and adults, played for seniors at Evergreen Living Center, and enjoyed giving back to the community their gift of music. Also, my adults played in an area Adults Piano Recital and it was just wonderful!

Truly you need to meet the teacher and have a lesson interview. Do not sign up for lessons without an interview! It's important that you are comfortable with the teacher, that communication is clear and you feel they have the right expertise for you. As a teacher, I need to access the student also and see if I think we are a good fit.

What do you want to accomplish in the short and long range? What musical background do you bring with you, if any? What do you expect in the form of weekly lessons, recitals, events that you can participate in, and what is required of you.

Important! You want to have FUN making music, so be sure to bring your joy with you to lessons!
