My teaching approach: I have been teaching for over 17 years and performing professionally for about 22 years. I have a B.A. in music performance. I teach based on the gradiant method which means we set goals and make objective analysis of your progress towards these goals. My guitar lessons take place in: The teacher's studio or the student's home Guitar Lessons with me take place in the following areas: I presently teach at three different music stores, my students houses, and via Skype. Guitar Techniques: Song Writing, Scales and Exercises, Music Theory, Reading Music, Jamming Skills, Improvisation, Performance, Vocal Accompaniment, Fingerstyle, Rhythm guitar, Lead guitar Your first guitar lesson with me might include the following: In the first lesson we will get to know each other a little and try to figure out what you already know, what you want to know, and how to get there.....by practicing with discipline, focus and artistry. A guitar lesson with me might entail the following: We will keep a note book. We will work on 3-4 areas of study each week, of these items I will pick the first three based on the students needs to develope knowledge and proficiency of chords, scales, reading, rhythm, and repertoire. The remaining area of study is determined by the students personal interest. The qualities I look for in an ideal guitar student might include the following: A good student is ambitious, motivated, and works hard to integrate the material into their own personal musical vocabulary.

What is your typical process for working with a new student?
New students will be evaluated as to their skill level in the music fundamental of chords, scales, rhythm and reading.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have a degree in music performance and two other degrees. I have continued my education by attending private lessons, master classes and seminars. I perform music professionally.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.
I follow closely the "gradient method" where the student and teacher progress through the necessary material at the correct time in the course of study.

I have been studying music since the age of 13.

I take all students, young and old, male and female and beginners or advanced.
