Founded in 2009, the Metro-Detroit Jazz Workshop, located in Clinton Township, MI, is a unique learning environment for musicians of all levels. Created by acclaimed pianist and educator, Scott Gwinnell, the workshop offers an annual program every July aimed at enhancing the skills of jazz enthusiasts. This specialty 'day camp' boasts a low student-to-teacher ratio, offering classes in jazz theory, composition, and improvisation, led by some of the best jazz educators in the Midwest. Participants have the opportunity to perform at premier jazz clubs in Detroit, showcasing their improved talents.
