My typical process for working with a new student is evaluating the student current level of playing, then asking them their musical goals, then we set out to achieve those goals.
The education and training I have is music school, college degree, music camps, 1000's of stage performance and studio recordings around the country, and over 200 private students in person and over skype.
My standard pricing system is $15.00 per hour, and $100 in advance for 10 lessons, more info on my website www.bigive.com.istemp.com or just call me 216.224.9616.
I got started teaching professionally because people suggested it.
I have worked with students of all ages from 4 to 75 years old, some of my students are even professional musicians.
I am very fond of my show on www.youtube.com/ivanwilliams its called "DETROIT BASS PLAYERS IN THE BASSMINT", I have over 3000 subscribers, and almost a million views in over 200 countries and territories, its very musically imformative and educational.
My advice for a student hire an instructor with experience, I've been teaching professionally since 2007, and before that since 1975.
Questions a student should think through before talking to a music instructor is "What are their goals musically"
