TC Vocal Arts
About
Always wanted to sing? Don't understand some things about your voice? I love helping everyone sing healthy and become knowledgable about their voice. I work with beginners to professional levels of experience and have been teaching for over 30 years, both privately and group classes, recitals, musical reveues etc. through out the Twin Cities.
I accept students for private lessons from 14yrs of age to adults. Weekly Lessons can be scheduled during day or evening hours for 30 minute, or 60 minutes in length. Tuition is $35, and $45 respectively per lesson.
I have taught at Metropolitan Community College, Bloomington School of Music, and had my own studio in the West Bank Theatre District, at Hennepin Center for the Arts, and am now in Bloomington MN.
I have been a Music Director, and/or vocal coach for several theatres through the years, such as Apple Valley High School and Theatre in the Round, a performer and 'show' pianist-music director with the Stagecoach Opera House for seven summers, among many other professional activities. You can find more information on my website: www.twincitiesvocalarts.com
I have been on the boards of Thursday Music, Vocal Arts Players, a member of NATS and currently sing with, and serve on the board of directors for CORO!, an ensemble of vocal soloists. My studio is located at 307 west 92nd street, Upstairs, Bloomington, MN 55420. There is a small no fee parking lot, and is just two or three minutes from 35W and the 90th exit.
In lessons we will learn good breath, body relaxation skills to create a flexible and healthy vocal approach to singing. We can adapt the repertoire between us according to my suggestions and your favorite styles of music.
Send me an email at [email protected] with your phone contact and a convenient time to call you... let's chat.
I would love to meet you.
My greatest enjoyment is to see students grow and flourish, gain confidence, join vocal activities they are excited about and stay vocally healthy now and in the future.

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
We sing some vocal exercises (vocalise) and sing through some simple songs, which I have, or you can bring some music you may have that I can accompany, or you can sing a capella. We'll discuss the syles of music you like, your past singing experience, and I will ask if there are any problems you might be concerned with. I will give you comments about my observations and how I feel it would be best to proceed forward with lessons. It isn't a 'test'...just a fun time to get to meet each other to exchange music information and knowlege!
