I believe that life is a story that each of us is telling with each day. I am drawn to the idea of working hard to help other people tell the best story possible and I believe that music is one medium through which I can do that. I know that music has made me a better listener, communicator, thinker, feeler, and developed many other indispensable skills in me. I want to use music to help others thrive. My philosophy is to contextualize lessons to each student's goals and needs so the musical journey is as unique as the person traveling. I have been playing instruments for 15+ years and teaching for 7, both as a private instructor and as a music leader in a church setting. I have a B.A. in Music from the University of Northwestern-St. Paul where I majored in cello. I am excited to connect!
I love getting to know students and helping them acheive their goals! I believe in holistic growth beyond just making music. I see lessons as an opportunity for both the student and myself to continue to get better musically and otherwise!
Jared took on this ‘later in life’ student-me, at 65 years young with a dream of playing the cello. He appreciated my dream and made it come true. He even adapted the dreaded positions for my rheumatoid arthritis. But best of all, even more than being an excellent teacher, he has a good heart. I miss him.
Jared does a great job teaching electric guitar to my son. He relates well to him, and my son always looks forward to his lesson with Jared, who is very committed to helping my son learn guitar. Thanks Jared!
Jared is great! Highly recommend his personable and professional approach to quality teaching
Jared has adapted my lessons brilliantly to work well for me as an adult student with particular interest. Excellent lessons full of technique, history, context and more.
