About this pro

Are you stuck in a guitar rut? Just starting out? Would you like to take your guitar skills to the next level? Caleb Alexander's lessons are for beginner, intermediate, and advanced guitar players seeking to take their chops to another level.

I love helping people learn! I've spend over half my life playing music, and quickly began teaching lessons in my hometown. After earning a Bachelors of Music, and a Masters in Jazz Performance I've realized teaching lessons is one of my biggest passions. No matter if you are just starting out with music, or if you have played for years I'm sure I can help you tackle your musical goals.

Caleb's knowledge of the guitar, teaching insights, and personal approach have helped develop my skills and--even more important-- nurtured my interest at every turn. I can't recommend him more strongly!

I have been taking guitar lessons from Caleb for nearly 10 years now. Through the years I have learned an extraordinary amount from him, not only enriching my guitar abilities but my music abilities in general. I took in-person lessons from him for a few years, but when he moved to Columbia, we switched to Skype lessons. We have been doing Skype lessons ever since, and it works very well! I would highly recommend lessons from Caleb to anyone who is looking for a guitar teacher, no matter what age!

Caleb is a fantastic teacher! He works hard to identify with you as a student and your specific learning style and interest. He goes above and beyond to work with your schedule and any unforeseen changes you may need. I can’t not enthusiastically recommend him enough!

What is your typical process for working with a new student?

I genreally try to talk to the student (or their parent) over the phone before our first lesson.  That way we can devote the entire lesson time to music making.  In that first lesson I have students play some for me if they can, or we start with basics like holding the instrument, tuning, etc if they are beginners.

What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

I graduated with a Bachelors of Music in Jazz Studies with a concentration in guitar from Wichita State University in 2013.  In 2017 I earned my Masters of Music in Jazz Performance and Pedagogy from the University of Missouri - Columbia.  While there I also earned a certificate in Music Entrepreneurship.

Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.

I charge a monthly fee for lessons of $90 per month of 1/2 hour lessons. This way if there are 5 weeks in a month you still pay the same amount.

What types of students have you worked with?

I have worked with everyone from 5 years old to 78 years old, from people just starting out to college musicians.
