I'm not here to just to teach students how to play the guitar or the piano in a vacuum. My goal is to communicate and impart a love and understanding of music as a discipline and as a way of life.
I enjoy working with students, exploring musical repetoire and vocabulary. Most of all I enjoy learning with my students.

David has been teaching my son guitar for 2+ years. What impressed me most was, from the very beginning, he was playing real songs that he wanted to learn. Thanks to David’s lessons, my son is excited and motivated to continue growing as a musician.
He was very awesome and he made me feel very comfortable.
Great instructor with friendly attitude and knowledge David is very informative and friendly teacher. He made me very comfortable with guitar.
Very impressed with David's piano teaching ability. Arthur has been inspired! I really like the way David 'paints a picture' in his descriptions of how to improve a player's performance. For example, "Your hands should be like dancers who know their routines, and are independent of one another". Plus he backs this up with practice and repetition until it sinks in. Essentially, what's so great about David is that the finer details of being an outstanding pianist are fully addressed in a positive way, and I feel confident that Arthur will emerge from his chrysalis as a more fluent, happy, and improved performer. Arthur has learned so much in so few lessons. Thank you!
I begin by assessing the students strengths and weaknesses, particularly as this applies to what their individual reason may be for coming to me. From here lessons can go anywhere that the student needs work. I employ a creative process for engaging with musical problems and stress physical and mental mindfulness in my approach.
